BICSI EduTour – Orlando International Airport, Terminal C Technology Tour

$530.00

Orlando International Airport’s South Terminal Complex (STC) is the first fully integrated, multi-modal airport terminal in the U.S. for rail-air-ground transportation. Terminal C opened to passengers in September of 2022 as one of the first LEED v4 certified airport campuses in the world, with a design that provides 25% energy cost-savings over the latest ASHRAE 90.1-2010 standard. The 1.3-million-sq-ft terminal incorporates many additional firsts for U.S. airports: technologies such as 100% total virtual ramp control; 100% advanced automated screening lanes; 100% facial recognition “e-gates;” a “Bags First” design and an RFID technology based 100% trackable baggage system.

While some of the technology we will feature is solely focused on the airport sector of the transportation market (e.g., Virtual Ramp Control, Visual Docking and Guidance Systems, and Baggage Handling Systems), other systems and features of the tour are applicable across many markets including Military, Transportation, Education, Healthcare, Large Industrial, and virtually any other large and/or multi-building campus type deployments (e.g., ANSI Standard Telecommunications Infrastructure, Passive Optical Networks, VESDA Aspirating Smoke Detection).

Special Notes

EduTour fee includes transportation to/from the Gaylord Palms Convention Center and the Orlando International Airport, lunch, and CECs. Specific instructions will be emailed separately to all registered participants prior to the conference.

Participants will be going through a TSA checkpoint.  Restrictions are the same as those required by TSA for passenger screening. During this screening, all participating individuals will be subject to searches of their person and or anything they are carrying.  Please refer to the TSA rules and regulations around prohibited items.  Any individual in possession of any prohibited item will be subject to denial of entry into the secure area of the airport. Once cleared through the TSA screening process, all unbadged individuals must be escorted by badged individuals with escort privileges at all times and must remain in clear site of their badged escort at all times, until they exit the secure area.

All individuals are required to provide a valid government issued ID from the country in which they reside for the TSA screening process. TSA reserves the right to prohibit entry to secure areas to any individual based on TSA regulations.

All participants will be transported from the Gaylord Palms Convention Center to the Orlando International Airport.  BICSI is using a third party transportation company to provide transport.  Actual arrival and departure times may vary based on transportation schedules.

Photography will be allowed in public areas. For security reasons, photography will be prohibited at some of the tour stops. The badged escort for each group will inform the group as to which stops allow photography and which stops prohibit it.

No refunds will be provided for any reason after cancellation cutoff date.
