Fundamentals of Passive Optical LAN

$530.00

This masterclass will provide an overview of the value, architecture, design and powering considerations for a Passive Optical LAN technology. Focus will be given to system components, benefits, design methodologies, power survivability, planning and commissioning of electronics, testing, and closeout deliverables. Optical LANs have become an established cost-effect replacement for traditional copper Local Area Networks by reducing power, space, and cooling requirements while increasing the longevity of structured cabling. Attendees will first be given fundamental knowledge on the underlying technologies in POL. The masterclass will then allow attendees to understand the various components involved and combine that with existing design experience to assemble the infrastructure for a POL. Included in the masterclass will be a design exercise based on user requirements and building drawings. The masterclass will conclude with attendees having a design to delivery understanding of Passive Optical LAN.
