National Electrical Code Issues for the Low Voltage Designer

This masterclass begins with an overview of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and how it's organized then progresses to an analysis of the articles related to data center design. The overview will cover the NEC organization with a focus on sections common to low voltage system designers. Data center topics to include clearances, grounding, cable ampacities, battery systems, cabling with PoE, and communications. NFPA 72 and 75 will be discussed. We will conclude with a discussion of newer (2023 Code) NEC articles and future trends such as Quantum Computing.
